Manufacturing

The Manufacturing of marble involves several important steps for extracting and manufacturing this luxurious natural material.

Quarrying

Extraction: Marble is extracted from quarries, which are large open pits or underground mines. The extraction process involves drilling, blasting, and cutting large blocks of marble from the earth.

Transport: Once extracted, the blocks are transported to processing plants.

Sawing

Gang Saw: Large blocks of marble are cut into slabs using gang saws, which are large machines equipped with multiple blades. This process can take several hours to complete due to the hardness of the marble.

Wire Saw: In some cases, diamond wire saws are used to cut the marble. These saws use a wire coated with diamond segments to cut through the stone.

Surface Finishing

Polishing: The surfaces of the marble slabs are polished to achieve a smooth and glossy finish. This is done using a series of progressively finer abrasives.

Honing: For a matte finish, the marble is honed, which involves using abrasives that are less fine than those used for polishing.

Texturing: Some marble surfaces are textured using techniques such as sandblasting, bush hammering, or flaming to create a rough or patterned surface.

Cutting

After surface finish the slabs are cut into tiles or any cut to size according to the customers design and requirements.

Packing and Shipping

Packing: The finished marble are carefully packed in wooden crates or pallets to prevent damage during transportation.

Shipping: The packed marble is then shipped to distributors, retailers, or directly to customers.
